The 1981 Toyota Celica Supra (Mk1) was Toyota’s first attempt at creating a more powerful and luxurious version of the Celica, which would eventually evolve into the legendary Supra lineage. Based on the Celica Liftback, the Supra (also known as the Celica XX in Japan) featured a longer wheelbase to accommodate the larger inline-6 engine, giving it improved performance and a more grand touring-focused driving experience.
